3:45 - 6:30 pm
West Covina High School (Instrumental Music Room - O-5)
We are excited to invite prospective 7th and 8th grade students, from both within and outside of the West Covina Unified School District, to a special Performing Arts Academy Workshop Preview — a hands-on experience designed to give students and families an authentic look at what it’s like to be part of the West Covina High School Performing Arts Academy.
This interactive workshop allows students to participate in learning structures that closely mirror what our Academy students experience throughout the year. It is an excellent opportunity for students to explore their interests, build confidence, and experience the caliber of instruction our program offers.
What Students Will Experience
During the workshop, prospective students will take part in a unique activity we call Mini Lessons. These are focused, 25-minute sessions led by our professional teaching artists and are designed to give students a glimpse into the high-level private instruction that Performing Arts Academy students receive at no cost as part of the program.
To ensure students feel comfortable and supported, each participant will be paired with a current Performing Arts Academy student who will serve as their guide throughout the afternoon. This peer “buddy” system helps students navigate campus, feel welcomed, and get the most out of the experience.
