The West Covina High School Performing Arts Academy (WCHS PAA) continues to celebrate the incredible talents of our Teaching Artists. Today, we turn our spotlight to Tonatiuh, a versatile Television, Film, Theatre, and Voice Over artist, who shares his wealth of experience with our theatre students through private one-on-one and small group instruction.

A Multifaceted Artist

Tonatiuh’s impressive career spans the realms of television, film, theatre, and voice over work. His most recent accomplishments include a series regular role on the ABC Drama “Promised Land” and a remarkable three-season recurring guest starring role on “Vida,” a critically acclaimed series on Starz.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, Tonatiuh is a passionate advocate for stories that drive political change. He believes that artists have a profound responsibility to create the world they want to see and to invite their communities into that vision by holding a mirror to themselves. This commitment to socially relevant storytelling sets Tonatiuh apart as an artist who not only entertains but also inspires change.

“Carry On” and the Power of Storytelling

Tonatiuh’s next project, “Carry On,” is set to stream on Netflix in winter 2023. This eagerly anticipated release promises to be another significant addition to his already illustrious body of work.
